The Jedi Knight Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi are dispatched to negotiate a peace treaty with the Trade Federation, but end up fighting to free the planet of Naboo from the Federation’s blockade. They meet Anakin Skywalker, a young slave with unusually strong abilities with the Force, and seek to train him as a Jedi. However, the dark Sith Lord Darth Sidious and his apprentice Darth Maul plot to destroy the Jedi and take over the galaxy.
